Flamenco workshop in Preston

Flamenco dancing, song and guitar was commonly associated within the Andalusian Gypsy community in Spain. Characterised as a solo dance involving intricate hand actions, strong body shaping, rhythmic clap variations and accentuated footwork, it is usually accompanied by singer and guitar. Even today this style of dance still remains popular as an attraction for visitors to Spain. This dance fever grips the audience and many tourists go on to buy traditional skirts, fans and castanets.
This exciting dance style is suitable for all. Now is the chance for you to try a different style of dance that is unique and exciting with one of the few experienced Flamenco dance teachers in the North England. Dancers are taught Posture, different ‘Palmas’, footwork (e.g. Golpe, Tacon) and routines. This exciting and atmospheric dance is taught by Bill Reeder who trained with the well- known ‘Taller Flamenco’ school based in Sevilla, Spain.
